A Slice of Life was established in 1993 by sisters Elaine and Leigh Denby, born out of a love of cooking with our mother in our family B&B, Shelmalier House in Athlone. And so, our interest in all things food as young girls became an integral part of our lives as sisters.
Over 25 years later, we are as passionate now as we were then about good food made with love.
At A Slice of Life everything is done by hand, from the chopping of the veg to the mashing of the potatoes to the making of the dough and the finishing of our fabulous cakes. We make all our food in small batches, because it tastes better that way, and we package and label everything by hand.
We are proud to support a number of local suppliers who provide us with the highest quality produce. Our eggs from a local free range producer and most of our fruit and vegetables come from our garden.
We’re delighted that our passion and dedication has won us various business and food awards along the way.
